The Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri” was created by the Friends of Music Society as a resource centre for music and the fine arts and is able to support continuous research and multilevel educational programmes. Unique among its kind in Greece and freely accessible to the public, it operates with the aim of addressing the needs of a wide range of users. The Library uses all modern information technologies which have been applied to its activities. Library material focuses on Western art music and Greek music from the Antiquity to the present. Its collection comprises more than 145.000 titles. More specifically, 84.000 book and score titles, 23.242 pieces of microfilm, 695 periodical titles, 22.000 recordings and rich audio-visual material. The collection also includes electronic editions and multimedia on various topics, as well as rare editions, photographs, concert programmes, numerous manuscripts, composers’ personal archives, rare collections and access to online databases.
