The Central Library (Campus 1) of the University of West Attica was founded in 1977. It moved to a new, contemporary, fully equipped building in June 2002. The library manages the printed and electronic material of the academic institution according to the international standards and rules for cataloguing, indexing and classification. The library also develops various services to support the teaching and research work of the institution such as circulation and reference services, interlibrary loan, educational programs. The library contains approximately 98,000 volumes of printed books and 700 titles of printed journals, registered in the library’s OPAC, which operates under the new partnership model of Greek Academic Libraries named ILSAS. As an academic library, it is a member of the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link, a consortium which provides its members full text access to thousands of electronic journals and books.
